So we have made it to August! We got through to the end of the school term. We have seen the arrival of a new team member, our lovely au pair Othelie from Bretagne! We have celebrated Molly’s 6th birthday party, with a full on party & a trip to the donkey sanctuary. Ian has taken the kids glamping in Bere Regis for 2 days and they have been motorhoming in Devon for 2 days! The pub has been bursting since the holidays began and we are all exhausted! Visitors have included my parents, Ian’s parenets, Sammy Snake, Auntie Kat & Grace! To say it has been madness would be an understatement! But who wants a quiet life anyway!

We could not be more pleased with the number of people coming through the doors and the fabulous comments from customers about the food and the atmosphere. The team is really coming together and everyone seems to really enjoy being here. They are all working so hard and when we have a busy night they pull out all the stops! I could not be more proud. The kitchen team will be complete again next week but Ian & Dave have worked so so hard to make sure there is plenty of food for us to serve!

The only downside is there are not enough hours in the day. So things are not as perfect as I want them to be, but we will get there and it is still early days. The well oiled machine is not finished yet, but it is well on its way.

The kids are having a fabulous summer so far. I don’t think they have spent a day at home. Next week may be a little calmer! Who knows!

Anyway just a real quick one today to let you all know we are still breathing and Somerset is still looking after us! When the opportunity comes I will get back online!
